George Horton’s Sentencing Hearing Thursday

Sentencing Hearing for George Horton August 9th, 2012

Where: Old City Hall Courtroom 112 Toronto, Ont

When: 10am, Thursday August 9th

George Horton is a photographer, dog lover, street kid, and anarchist from Peterborough, Ontario. He was convicted of 6 charges stemming from the Get Off The Fence demonstration during the G20 weekend in Toronto in 2010. George was arrested after someone gave a tip to the Toronto Police implicating him as an alleged member of demonstrations that weekend.

George took a number of his charges to trial and was convicted on almost all of them. He is now facing 15-18 months in prison if the crown gets her way.

George was Convicted of:

  • 3 X Attempted Mischief Over $5000
  • 1 X Masking with Intent to Commit a Crime
  • 1 X Assault Police
  • 1 X Intimidation of a Justice Participant

His sentencing hearing is coming up and we are putting a call out for people to come and show their support for George. He would appreciate anyone sympathetic to come how to show the support he has.

George is looking for Letters of Support and Character References. These letters should describe Georges fine character, work in the community and other positive attributes which require him to spend as little time in prison as possible. They should be signed and printed and submitted to George before the 9th. Give guelph ABC an e-mail if you would like to help out with that. Contact us at Guelphabc@riseup.net

 See you there,
